The Original name for Coniston Station was "Glenora".
In 1897 the station was manned by a Porter by the name of Charles Mohr. He had had this position since 20th April 1892. He was also the Postmaster.
"Glenora" was the terminus of the line until 1909. To turn the locomotives efficiently for their return journey it had a turntable located just beyond the station.
