Built for Tasmanian Government Railways and used as a shunting/branch line loco. Withdrawn in 1983, stored and preserved in a park at Margate in 1985 following the sale and removal of its engine and gearbox. Acquired by DVR in 1998 from Kingborough Council and transferred to New Norfolk Yard and stored.

V7 in Tasmania

Built in England in 1954 for Tasmanian Government Railways. In Tasmania from 1955, V7 was used as a shunting and branch line loco. It was withdrawn from service in 1983.

It was then "plinthed" in a park at Margate in 1985 after the sale and removal of its engine( 8 cylinder Gardiner) and gearbox.

V7 was acquired by DVR in 1998 from Kingborough Council and delivered to New Norfolk Yard in 1999 by truck.
