V.G.Salter worked at several stations along the Derwent Valley Line.
He started at Russell (later known as Westerway) in 1918 as a learner messenger and worked his way up to return there as a Stationmaster grade IV in 1945. He also saw service at Macquarie Plains and Fitzgerald.
