The three ACS (Articulated Country Saloon) carriages at DVR were all built at Launceston Railway Workshops for the Tasman Limited between 1955 and 1958.
ACS4 was built in 1958 for Tasmanian Government Railways. Used on main line express passenger trains, withdrawn in 1978.
Sold in 1979 to J. & M. Meehan who formed Tasmanian Rail Tours in 1983 and returned to service.
Purchased by Tasmanian Locomotive Coy. Pty. Ltd. in 1986.
Sold to DVRPS in 1992.
